Tropical climates are also known as equatorial climates because they are very close to the equator. The temperatures in these areas mostly average between 21 and 29 degrees celcius and stay warm for the whole year. Brazil in South America has the largest tropical rainforest, the Amazon. The Amazon is the home to many animals and plants mostly because it gets an average of 400 inches of rain a year. It is a perfect place for plants to grow because it gets a lot of sun but is very moist because it gets a lot of rain as well. They take up almost 7% of the world. This number is decreasing because many people are cutting down trees and destroying animals habitats for building on. This is called deforestation.

The tundra climate is the opposite to to the tropical climate. It is a dry and very bleak place in the world. There are never any trees growing and not many animals live there. It is one of the coldest places in the world and during the summer temperatures only rise to 50 degrees farenhite. Aloso during the summer the sun shines for 24 hours a day. This is called the midnight sun. The opposite of this happens during the winter where the sun never shines. In places such as the Arctic there is a lot of ice and snow and penguins, polar bears and many more animals live there. The earths atmosphere is getting warmer and all of the ice is melting which means that all of these animals are losing their homes. This has been an ongoing problem for many years and soon if it doesn't stop we will lose this climate forever.
